This class will focus on basic training, health and wellness, socialization, behavioral concepts, and manners. Sit, stay, heel, down, and come are all addressed.
Canine GOOD CITIZEN CGC AND CGC-A
Must have completed Starter class (or equivalent). This class will focus on more complex heeling, additional skills, advanced behavioral concepts, recalls, coping with distractions and real life situations. A CGC(AKC Canine Good Citizen) test will be offered on the last day of class. CGC-A test will be offered intermittently as some items must be tested in a natural environment. The CGC class may be repeated as desired to reinforce behaviors.
Advanced Companion
Must have completed a Starter class (or equivalent). This class will concentrate on reliable recalls and stays, and work towards off leash heeling. The class is designed for those who what a higher level of training and control but do not wish to pursue the competition path. This class may be repeated to reinforce desired behaviors.
Obedience and Competition Prep
Must have completed Advanced Companion or CGC (or equivalent) class. This class will work on competition exercises, footwork, ring procedures, and proofing necessary to compete in AKC/UKC obedience trails. This class may be repeated to reinforce desired behaviors.
Rally
Must have completed Starter class (or equivalent) class. This class will introduce Rally stations and provide opportunities to experience Rally courses. Depending on experience of participants, the class may also introduce rules and expectations of Rally competition. Multiple courses will be utilized.
open/utility
This is a self-paced class for advanced competition training. Participants must have earned a CD title on at least one dog in the past. These sessions will concentrate on the required performance elements for competition. Participants may come on a week to week basis. The cost is $10 per session and participants are expected to help each other as “stewards” and help set up exercises.
Agility Primer
Introduction to basic agility obstacles including tunnels, A-frame, and jumps. It is a fast paced, active class for both handlers and dogs. Off leash control is mandatory.
Drop in Practice
These sessions offer opportunities for dog and handler teams to practice for competitions or to advance their training. Participants may work on any level or venue or just practice basic skills. Drop in practice works on a pay as you go basis and is $5 per person per hour. Please call for available times.

mini series classes require on leash control and that the dog have sufficient
training and focus to learn in a distracting environment.
conformation
These sessions will cover instruction for handlers and practice for dogs preparing to go into conformation classes. Ring procedures and breed specific stacking and gaiting will be covered.
private lessons
We offer private lessons for K9s of all ages and abilities. Please contact us for more information.
tricks
Must have complete a Starter class (or equivalent). Prepares dog/handler to participate in the AKC Tricks program. There are five levels, and the K9 Learning Center offers testing for the first three levels. The other levels require a demo tape that is sent to the AKC.
nose work
These sessions are geared toward teaching dogs to identify specific scents hidden in containers. It provides training for Nose Work competitions.
off leash heeling
This session concentrates on increasing off leash control. Multiple types of environments and distractions will be utilized. Remote recalls will also be addressed. Must have completed the Puppy/Beginner class (or equivalent).
introduction to draft/carting
This class will cover cart and harness options, harness fit, and learning about cart use and balance. Participants will have a chance to introduce their dog to equipment and learn skills to build the foundation for draft/carting work or play.
canine fitness
This class will work on developing improved generalized fitness, balance, core strength, and coordination. Fitness is important for all canine activities and venues. Improved fitness helps increase competition readiness and precision.
tracking
Tracking is following a human scent trail. This class will introduce your dog to tracking and provide multiple tracks at levels appropriate for each dog/handler team. Preparation work for tracking competition occurs as the class progresses. Appropriate seasonal outerwear is required for handlers.
continuing education
This class is designed for people who have successfully completed Puppy/Beginner classes and but now want some more formal “brush up” or reminder training.
Introduction to therapy/service/support dog
The differences between these classifications will be discussed along with the laws and ordinances that apply. Dogs will be introduced to some adaptive equipment and various therapy situations. Impeccable manners are crucial so these will be addressed throughout the class. There will NOT be any testing or certifications offered through this class.
consultation
This offers a chance for instructors to meet with you and your dog individually. This can serve several functions. This can assess for level (for example, to determine if you have the appropriate foundational skills to attend a more advanced class). This can also provide professional recommendations on training modalities, fitness for your lifestyle, or other questions you may have. Consultation is by appointment only, and is $25 per half hour.
